Stanwell House is a listed Grade II building, and was first listed in 1953. Originally a private residence and historically a school, the building offers uniquely designed rooms that maintain its character and reflect its period. From solid wooden floors, high ceilings and lots of small cosy nooks, you will feel right at home in our Georgian House Rooms.

FAQs
What are check-in and check-out times?
Your boutique room will be ready from 3pm, and check out is by 11am. Please let us know if you would like to extend these times for a fee, or we can store your bags for you to explore. Find out more.
What makes the 'House Rooms' unique compared to other room types?
Our House Rooms are located in the original Georgian part of the building, and their charm is in their period features such as high ceilings, original windows, and exposed fireplaces (in some rooms). Each boutique room is different and offers a cosy but spacious space to retreat with a King Sized bed.
Is there a lift to access the House Rooms?
As a historic Georgian building, there is no lift. Our House Rooms are located on upper floors and require stairs. You can read more about our accessibility, but please get in touch if you would like to discuss further before booking.
Are the House Rooms dog-friendly?
Unfortunately, our House Rooms are not dog-friendly. If you would like to bring your pooch along, we welcome dogs in our Terrace Rooms.
Is breakfast included when booking a House Room?
All of our bookings include a freshly prepared breakfast in Samphire or The Orangery, unless specified otherwise.
