At Stanwell House, we are incredibly proud to announce that we have been raising money for the charity Naomi House & Jacksplace!

Giving Back to the Community by Raising Money for Charity

Our Lymington community has been part of the driving inspiration for the refurbishment of the hotel, and we wanted to show our appreciation to the community by giving something back.

To aid the refurbishment and interact with the community, we decided to raise money for charity. This involved offering the furniture that we weren’t planning to use for sale, with proceeds being donated to Naomi House & Jacksplace.

The people of Lymington came together in a massive show of support for the hotel and supported us in raising money for charity, with queues stretching down the street.

We were lucky enough to receive generous donations for some of our antique pieces, sharing our history with the members of our community while raising money for charity.

Thoughts From Our General Manager

When discussing the charity fundraiser, our General Manager, Lance Bartlet, said: “We were delighted with the community’s response to our charity furniture sale, and would like to say a huge thank you to all those that came along.

“When taking over ownership of Stanwell House, we inherited a lot of beautiful furniture, but it didn’t quite match the direction we were going in for our new rebrand. So, instead of throwing these valuables away, we thought: Why don’t we host a charity furniture sale to give back to the community whilst raising money for charity in the process?”


Lance continued: “I am over the moon to announce that we managed to support the charity to raise over £10k, with all proceeds being donated to an incredible local hospice, Naomi House & Jacksplace. This is all thanks to our amazing local community, and we cannot thank them enough for their support.”

Naomi House & Jacksplace

Naomi House & Jacksplace provides hospice care to more than 600 children, young adults and families from central southern England, who suffer from life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

Its team offers nursing, care, play and family support, delivering emotional, spiritual, developmental, clinical and holistic care that children and young adults with complex medical needs require. 

The Response to Our Charity Fundraiser

When talking to him about the fundraiser, Paul Morgan, Director of Fundraising and Communication for Naomi House & Jacksplace, told us: 


“There is something incredibly special in the thought that furnishings from somewhere as loved and iconic as Stanwell House are sold. These then help fund expert care and support for children and young adults who visit and use Naomi House & Jacksplace.


“We are thrilled that the sale at the hotel, as well as other donations, will help fund over seven weeks of our expert nursing care.”

“We are incredibly grateful to the team at Stanwell for their generosity and hope everyone will treasure their special purchase. Buyers will know that they have also made a positive difference for the children and families supported by Naomi House & Jacksplace.”


After the sale, Lance concluded: “Now that the old furniture has been sold, we can continue refurbishing the hotel with the new rebrand in mind. We encourage people to watch this space, as exciting things are on the horizon for Stanwell House!”
