Sneak Peek of Stanwell House: Our Boutique Hampshire Hotel
Over the past few months, we’ve been undergoing some major changes at Stanwell House, which we are excited to share with you when we reopen this winter.
Keep reading to enjoy a sneak peek of what’s been happening behind the iconic gates of our Hampshire hotel and see what the future has in store for our stunning Grade II listed property.
Stanwell House | The Refurbishment of Our Hampshire Hotel
Working with a Grade II listed building like Stanwell House requires striking the right balance between creating a contemporary environment, whilst also being sympathetic to its character and history.
Much of the previous interior has been removed, taking the building back to its original structure, allowing it to breathe and show its true potential, which has in turn enabled the teams to create something really special, starting from a blank canvas.
Time and care has been taken to ensure that our plans are in keeping with the Georgian style of the building, as well as working with the local authority to obtain the necessary planning permission. We aim to not only improve the aesthetics of our hotel, but also widen our offerings to include welcome additions such as our new bar and events space.
Our Hampshire hotel has undergone a complete multi-million pound refurbishment with all bedrooms being redesigned with brand new bathrooms and additional spaces for dining and entertaining.
Hampshire Hotel | The Orangery
One of the crown jewels of our hotel is our celebrated orangery. During the refurbishment, we’re taking great care to create an elegant but relaxed atmosphere for our guests to enjoy.
This area of our Hampshire hotel will showcase a contemporary bar area which will sit perfectly below the stunning high ceilings, which our orangery is so well known for.
This sociable space will provide the perfect backdrop in which to enjoy cocktails and Champagne afternoon tea or a spot of lunch, with family, friends, locals and visitors alike.
Hampshire Hotel | The Transformation of Our Bar
At Stanwell House, we endeavour to impress our guests with an upmarket and stylish environment that doesn’t compromise on comfort.
Our new bar and informal dining area will epitomise the quality you would expect from a boutique hotel while maintaining a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
Previously a small space, only seating a handful of people, the old bar has been transformed into a welcoming reception, and we have created an entirely new bar space in our former bistro. Having also repurposed part of the kitchen to extend the area, the space has been completely reimagined and now seats up to 50 guests.
When visiting the refurbished bar, guests will be transported to a cosy and inviting space. Designed to mimic the look and feel of a classic wine cellar, the bar will feature soft green tones, dark wood, brick walls and marble features, as well as retaining the log burner, which has always been a favourite spot on a cold winter's day.
Whilst the new bar is undergoing the most drastic transformation, our fine dining restaurant at the back of the hotel , is also getting a whole new look and will be an elegant but relaxed space in which we are excited to -provide a delicious and beautiful dining experience to our guests.
Hampshire Hotel | Introducing Our Event Space
A new feature for the hotel will be a brand new events space. As a facility the hotel has not previously had, we are excited by the opportunities this dedicated and versatile space will offer.
Still under development, this space will be available to hire, creating a new offering for interested customers. Much like the rest of our hotel, the event space is being constructed and designed with quality, sophistication and beauty in mind, fitting the theme of the hotel while opening the doors for hosting opportunities in Lymington.
While our renovations are still ongoing, we’re excited to be able to share some of our amazing progress to give you a feel of what’s to come.
